useR! 2007 to be held August 8-10 at ISU (8/2/07; updated 8/6/07 kmw)
Dr. Dianne Cook, conference organizer, has invited BCB-IGERT-MGET students to drop in for any of the sessions that may be of interest - without registration! She says:

As a local you should feel free to stop into the talks of your choice, without the need to register. The final program will be available on the web site (www.user2007.org) on Wednesday morning. One stream of talks will be held in the auditorium, and there will be space for sure. The second stream of talks will be in Howe 1304, and that might get a bit crowded at times. Friday has a more bioinformatics flavor than Thursday, with some good talks and posters.

If you're into R, don't miss this!

The first North American useR! will be held at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, August 8-10, 2007. It follows on from successful meetings in Vienna, Austria, in 2006 and 2004. The meeting brings users and developers of R together to describe and discuss the latest developments in R and R packages. All R users are invited to attend and we encourage attendees from all disciplines to come along.

Student registration is $100. Although online registration has closed, you can still register onsite! See the useR! 2007 website for all the details.

Special kudos to Michael Lawrence (BCB and MGET, Statistics Department, major professors Diane Cook and Eve Wurtele) for all his hard work as a member of the userR 2007 program committee!
