POSTDOC IN PARIS? MAIS OUI! (Note February 6 Application Deadline) (11-17-03)
The Pasteur Foundation offers three-year fellowships to US citizens wishing to work in the laboratories of the Institut Pasteur. "Located in Paris and founded by Louis Pasteur in 1887, the Institut Pasteur is one of the world's leading private nonprofit centers for infectious disease research. With 2500 people of 60 nationalities, its 130 research labs are devoted to the basic science of improving global public health."

Guided by the institute's administration which seeks to develop international scientific exchanges to ensure the vitality and quality of Institut Pasteur labs, this program is uniquely for American citizens and does not apply to candidates already in France. The fellowships are $60,000 ($45,000 fellowship plus $15,000 bench fees to support the research) per year for a term of three years. Attention will be given to the Pasteur Foundation Fellows so that their time on the Parisian campus of the Institut Pasteur is an enriching experience not only scientifically, but also personally and culturally.
The next application deadline is February 6, 2004. For more information, check the BCB bulletin board or visit the Pasteur Foundation website at www.pasteurfoundation.org.
