Congratulations to Our Spring Graduates (5/9/07 kmw)
Congratulations to Wuyan Zhang (BCB and Statistics co-major, Statistics Department, major professors Alicia Carriquiry and Jack Dekkers) and Pete Vedell (IGERT trainee, BCB and Mathematics co-major, Mathematics Department, major professors Zhijun Wu and Robert Jernigan) who were awarded PhD degrees at ISU's graduation ceremony on May 4. Wuyan is a research statistician with Abbott Laboratories, and Pete will soon begin his postdoc with The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME. All our best wishes go with you, Wuyan and Pete!
BCB Thesis Seminar (5/9/07 kmw)
BCB PhD candidate Ling Guo (GDCB Department; major professors Patrick Scnhable and Daniel Ashlock) will present her thesis seminar, Adaptation of multiclustering to the analysis of microarray data, at 1:40pm Thursday, May 10, in 1026 Roy J. Carver Co-laboratory. The ISU bioinformatics and computational molecular biology community is invited to attend.

It's time to celebrate the end of the semester and successful completion of finals week! Our First Thursday supper for May will be held 5:30pm Thursday, May 10, at the home of BCB/MGET student Preeti Bais. Preeti lives at 2115 Coover 4313 Harrison Circle [note corrected address!], near the Ada Hayden trail. So, if you'd like, you can ride or bring your bike to Preeti's for a ride around the lake.

Congratulations to IGERT trainee Sally Pias and husband Ed on the recent birth of Miriam Selma Pias. Sally is a PhD student in NMSU's Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, working with major professors Barbara Lyons and Jing He. Our best wishes to the whole Pias family!
