Valeria Velasquez-Zapata presenting

Valeria Velasquez, a BCB PhD candidate in Roger Wise's Lab attended the Fifth Colombian Conference in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. At this event, she was invited to present a talk about her research, called Modeling effector-host interactions in the context of the barley protein interactome. She shared her research with Colombian colleagues who are interested in collaborating on bioinformatics projects. Programs like BCB provide training to students like Valeria, who can come back to their home countries and contribute to the development of the field. This event was an important step in Valeria’s path to join to the Bioinformatics community in Colombia.
