My current research program can be subdivided to four major areas: (i) Nonhost disease resistance mechanisms in Arabidopsis; (ii) Molecular basis of the soybean-Fusarium virguliformae interaction; (iii) An endogenous transposable element in soybean; and (iv) Genetic mechanisms regulating the plant adaptation to adverse climatic conditions. The goal of my lab is to apply the knowledge and resources generated in our studies in genetic improvement of crop plants, especially the soybean.
